what dogs don't shred - Dog Trainer Dulwich

Which Dogs Don’t Shed?

Dogs make for a wonderful addition to any home, but what you need to be prepared for is a certain level of hair to be seen here and there.

For people with allergies, this can make it difficult to pick a breed, but the good news is there are plenty of pups out there that don’t shed or which do so minimally, keeping your home spick and span and eyes free from itching.

Hypoallergenic dogs are a wonderful option if hair is of a concern, such as the bichon frise which was actually bred to be hypoallergenic. They’re a smaller dog so perfect for anyone with a cosy living space and they get on well with other dogs and children… a truly friendly little companion who will never leave your side.

Or what about the miniature Schnauzer? These are hugely popular at the moment and it’s not hard to see why, with their cute little moustached faces no doubt appealing to many would-be dog owners. They don’t shed very much at all and love nothing more than game playing, so you’ll be kept very busy indeed!

Another really popular pup is, of course, the cockapoo and it’s often the go-to breed for anyone looking for a hypoallergenic pooch. These are happy, funny little dogs that are very intelligent and easy to train, making them perfect for all sorts of households, whether shedding is a concern or not.

And then there’s the whippet, yet another very low shedding breed. These dogs look like tiny greyhounds and are renowned for their speed, as well as their lack of hair. They’re a gentle charming breed and just want to be with their owners, so if you’re looking for a loving companion, this could be a great choice for you.
